With Spring already here, this is the very best time to look back at your New Year’s resolutions and ask yourself, “Did I accomplish those health goals I set for myself?” and, if not, why not?
There’s nothing more personal than one’s own health. You can delegate and relegate many tasks in your life and hire all sorts of people, professionals, specialists and gurus you want (there are more tech-based systems now than ever before).
But the fact is, health can’t be done for you.
That might sound like I’m shooting myself in the foot here, especially as someone who owns and runs a boutique health centre.
Real health can truly only be experienced, enjoyed and maintained when someone takes it into their own hands, accepts responsibility for it and decides to take action. Simple as that…
However, before you click onto Amazon and buy the latest New York Times bestselling diet revolution book to end all diet books, take up the latest “exer-tainment” class at the local gym or church hall or even hire a local personal trainer to punish you in the gym…
You have likely been down that road already. If you haven’t, I can guarantee millions of people before you have — and they are still searching for answers!
The truth is, not one thing will help you reach a natural state of health and wellbeing. A combination of many aspects of your current lifestyle must be assessed followed by, most importantly, a structured plan to make a real and lasting difference!
Randomly trying every new fad or wonder supplement won’t get you anywhere long-term, and this goes for exercise too!
Unstructured, non-scientific exercise programmes often have many negative effects, especially most exercise programmes dished out in gym environments by many instructors and personal trainers.
The human body is a complex system of systems. What may work for one person may have a negative effect on another. Each person has his/her own mechanical and genetic needs when it comes to exercise, as he/she does with diet and most other areas of health.
Structure is the key!
So, back to the question I started with, how much progress have you really made with your health improvements since New Year’s Day?
If your answer is, “Not a whole lot,” don’t be too harsh on yourself. Trying to figure health out your own comes with LOTS of pitfalls and conflicting advice.
With the right guidance and structure, I GUARANTEE that you will be able to achieve much, much more than you think is possible!
Once you have achieved a new level of health and vitality, it is much easier to maintain it.
Don’t wait another year — or decade — before taking any action. Believe me, it will be far easier to get results right now than leave your health unchecked any longer.
